  • Pros
    • Contact with inhabitants. Visitors are warmly and generously welcomed.
    • The quaint old-fashioned countryside, where visiting farms and the hikes in the forest are both possible.
    • The unmatched beauty of the monasteries of Bucovine.
    • Very competitive prices for a European destination - as much for flight fares as for your budget for food and accommodation.
    • The multiple areas of interest: a beach holiday by the Black sea, a cultural tour in Bucovine, hikes in the forests of the Carpathian Mountains or by the Danube Delta.
  • Cons
    • The devastating consequences of Ceausescu's dictatorship with cities spoilt by the extensive use of concrete tower blocks and industrial landscapes which look like Chernobyl, after the nuclear disaster.
    • The total lack of environmental conscience with prairies covered in litter and ultra-polluting cars and factories.
    • The hopeless poverty shown by the beggars in cities, farmers in rags in the country and the appalling state of orphanages.
    • Car rental at exhorbitant prices.
