Discover The Buddha statues of Bamiyan Afghanistan

The Buddha statues of Bamiyan (110 miles west of Kabul), engraved straight into the mountain rocks, have been lost for mankind. This cultural heritage could not survive the attacks of the Taliban, who used enormous quantities of explosives to destroy what they called ?pagan Gods'. With a height of 187 and 131 feet, the two statues of Buddha were sculptured during the 3rd and in 5th centuries. On the 18th March 2001, this significant part of Afghan heritage was destroyed.
