Along with Ordino, Anyos, and Pal, Arinsal is one of the few villages to have preserved its authentic charm while avoiding being invaded by huge hotels, mass tourism, and the incessant comings and goings of tourist buses. Its current architecture boasts a clever mix of modern and traditional styles. For once, the architects adapted their designs to the landscape. 4 restaurants, 5 night clubs, a bakery, 6 regular bars and a rental agency: the list of shops is limited but it's exactly this tranquillity that visitors come to find!
Although the village becomes a little more lively in winter thanks to some bars and a nightclub, the rest of the year, Arinsal is a small and quiet mountain village. It is a little further away than Andorra la Vella but its beauty makes travelling the extra 5 miles worthwhile. People who come here just for the cheap tobacco and alcohol will be disappointed they aren't staying longer. What a change of scenery!
