Pas de la Casa is a ski resort located just beside the French border. It is also a huge open-air shopping centre.

Pas de la Casa: what to do?

Activities in Pas de la Casa change according to the season. In summer, hiking enthusiasts can take advantage of the trails leaving from Pas de la Casa, whereas in winter, the activities are all snow-based. Indeed, Pas de la Casa boasts 120 mi of slopes. You can also go cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, tobogganing, paragliding and even for a helicopter ride. Motorcycle and adventure tours are other possibilities. For those with a passion for the mountains, why not take the opportunity to try out some new activities?

Pas de la Casa is an ideal town for skiing and shopping. Unfortunately, urban development happened in such a disordered way that this town is not the most charming in the Principality. On the other hand, if you plan on going skiing or shopping, it is ideal.

Reminders

At first sight, Pas de la Casa isn't exactly the most charming of places, but it is the ideal location for skiing. The resort is impressive and the facilities very modern. There are a number of activities besides skiing that guests can do here.

To avoid

Don't criticise Catalan! it was chosen as the official language of the principality of Andorra in 1996 and the residents are proud to live in the first country to have Catalan recognised by the UN as an official language.

Pas de la Casa: what to eat?

Andorran cuisine is a subtle blend of French, Spanish and Catalan influences. The Catalan specialities will be an introduction to new flavours. Try the 'boles de picolat' (Catalan meatballs) or the 'rosta'; you won't be disappointed! Most Andorran dishes are simple and prepared with local meat and vegetables.

Pas de la Casa: what to buy?

Pas de la Casa sort of looks like an open-air shopping centre, where luxury boutiques stand facing a supermarket. Whatever you decide to buy, know that the prices are much cheaper than in France since the taxes applied in Andorra are much lower.
