Places for exchange and tradition, the markets form an integral part of the Bolivians' daily life. Most take place once a week, however others, like the one in Sagarnaga Street in La Paz and the main market in Sucre, take place every day. You will discover plenty of others, each having its own character. Go and see the markets of El Valle Alto in Cochabamba. Close by, the Punata market, which occupies almost the whole of the small town, is one of the most beautiful: each district has its own speciality (hats, fruit and vegetables). The most well-known is without doubt Tarabuco, which takes place every Sunday. The peasants sell pottery and magnificent fabrics there.
