The striking colours in Brazil inspire artistry; oil, acrylic and watercolour paintings can be found everywhere on the squares, in the markets, and hanging in a variety of shops. Various styles are used by the painters. The naïve paintings (which recall those of the customs officer Rousseau) are everywhere, but do not constitute all of Brazilian painting. While strolling along the Pelourinho streets in Salvador, you will discover other tendencies, some famous paintings are even printed on clothes, tee-shirts, skirts or sarongs.
