A seaside town 186 miles to the south of Recife, Maceio has very beautiful beaches bordered with coconut trees, and natural swimming pools formed among the reefs. Pajuçara and Sete Coqueiros beaches serve as points of departure for boat trips out to the reefs, and further to the north you'll find a 62 mile stretch of beaches. The most difficult part is deciding which one to visit to enjoy a dip. At Barra de Santo Antonio, you can take a boat to Coroa island, one of the most popular islands for excursions. Finally, to the south is one of the most famous - and busy - of Maceio's beaches: praia do Frances.
