This lake, or rather lagoon, is an expanse of saltwater located in the southern part of the city of Rio de Janeiro. It may once have been an inlet which was cut off from the Atlantic Ocean. Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon is now used for practising various water sports, including rowing and sailing. This is also where you can have a go on one of the famous swan pedalo boats. It is a great place for a stroll or a bike ride before sitting down for a meal at one of the many restaurants.
