This 30,000 acre park is located a few miles from the capital, Bujumbura. It is made up of two parts: the swamplands of the Delta and the the palm forest. In the swamplands, there are no less than 19 hippopotamus species, and in the palm forest you can admire over a thousand different plant species. There are also many antelopes running around, as well as the odd crocodile and many calidrids. Given that there aren't any big cats, you can walk around the park safely.
