Discover National wildlife areas
There are five National Wildlife Areas in the region, which aim to protect the natural environments and are managed by the Canadian Wildlife Service. Some are open to the public and have guides to introduce those who are interested to certain animals, particularly birds. Hiking is possible, and photography sessions are also available. National Wildlife Areas can be identified by their blue and white signs depicting a great northern loon, the bird featured on the Canadian Wildlife Service logo.
