The museum of Padre Sebastian Englert in Hanga Roa contains many objects that give more insight into Easter Island's past. Many objects can been seen, such as a collection of stone tools, a wooden moai kava kava, a moai representing a woman, pieces of wood with symbols that have still not yet been deciphered and mysterious rongo rongo writings. Several boards describe the traditional society, architecture and customs, and in particular the use of tattoos.
