An important stop on the old Silk Road, Baoji has retained traces of this glorious past. Rich in cultural history, the city has some interesting sites, particularly the Famen temple (or Asoka temple). Located 6 miles north of the Fufeng district, it owes its fame to the old relics of Sakyamuni. However, this is not its only attraction. It also has the historical site of Mount Tiantaï. This space (50 sq mi) brings a multitude of monuments together, such as the sanctuary of Emperor Shennong, the ruins of the Yangshao culture, and also those of the Shang and the Zhou.
