More than 65% of Costa Rica's boarders are coasts! On the Pacific or Caribbean side, you can find dreamlike paradise beaches. Famous for their hot waters (from 26°C to 28°C all year) and their dry climate, the Pacific beaches are the most crowded.
A small tropical country, Costa Rica is home to 5% of all plant and animal species on the planet. You can count 10,000 plant species, 15,000 butterfly species, 800 bird species and 1,500 types of orchid. It is the only country to have protected 25% of its land.
