The breathtaking Niagara Falls

Toronto is 130 km from the famous Niagara Falls. Linking Lake Ontario and Lake Erie, the Niagara River is 58 km long. It marks the exact border between the United States and Canada. Niagara Falls can be admired from two different countries, although the view from Canada is reputed to be far more beautiful...

Historically, the entire Great Lakes region was hollowed out and filled with water during the last Ice Age, around 12,500 years ago. Since then, the 3 Niagara Falls have been an exceptional natural site that has fascinated people from generation to generation. Niagara Falls is just 1 hour and 15 minutes from Toronto.

You can spend the day in front of the most impressive waterfalls in the world, and return to your hotel in the evening. If you want to spend a few nights here, hotels, restaurants, excursions and even casinos are all available.

Toronto, view of Lake Ontario

Toronto is a big city. With its 3 million inhabitants, the cacophony and bustle of the city can sometimes make itself felt. Take the boat from the Harbourfront and 15 minutes later you'll be in North America's largest pedestrian zone: the Toronto Islands.

The Toronto Islands, a car-free archipelago

The Toronto Islands are an archipelago of some fifteen islands just across from Toronto. Originally connected to the mainland, the islands were formed after a violent storm that separated them from the rest of the land. Since then, it has been a veritable paradise where calm and tranquillity are the watchwords. The archipelago is car-free, so no more noisy cars or shrill horns. Of the 15 islands, only 2 are inhabited. Along the shores, the small English-inspired cottages will make you dream. The Toronto Islands are the perfect place to take your children. There's an amusement park, an educational farm and a variety of sports on the archipelago, including canoeing and stand-up paddling. Don't forget your walking shoes, and watch out for blisters!

Toronto's quiet beaches

If you prefer to stay on the mainland, Toronto is a pretty city on Lake Ontario. Even if the temperatures are relatively cool all year round, it's possible to take a dip in the middle of summer. Head to Woodbine beach and Balmy beach for a daytime picnic or a sunset with friends.

A city for children

As well as being a fascinating, trendy and historic city, Toronto is packed with activities for children. Not to mention the outdoor activities available in High Park or on Toronto's islands, the city has incredible museums, zoos and aquariums. Take a trip to the ROM, the Royal Ontario Museum, a huge, architecturally striking building dedicated to natural history.

There you can discover a reconstructed bat cave, the mysteries of science and Chinese architecture. Visit the science centre, one of the first interactive museums of its time. It's an innovative and fun place to learn that children love. The Ripleys aquarium and the Legoland Discovery Centre are sure to delight young and old alike!

Fun in summer and winter.

A young, dynamic and trendy city

For fans of microbreweries, designer boutiques and fusion restaurants, Toronto is full of charming and trendy neighbourhoods. The brick walls and cobbled streets of the Distillery district will amaze you. Dynamic, hip and chic, this is Toronto's historic district. The entirely pedestrianised area is located in the former Gooderham & Worts distillery, one of the largest distilleries in the world.

And don't miss St. Lawrence Market, its farmers' market and art gallery.
