Discover Lake Abbe Djibouti

Lying on the Ethiopian border, lake Abbe also comes from another time. If you have a good 4 x 4, you can get there directly from Lake Asal. You have to drive through the Gagade plains, a fertile wadi which, from April to October, is covered by nomad camps and cattle. You can also discover the bright green oasis of Dikhil. The scenery that offers Lake Abbe is also sumptuous. Vast, dry and silent lands, burnt and encrusted by salt, earth pins and pyramids here and there. The pins are above warm water sources that have very strong steam blasts. On the lake, during the rainy season, you can observe hundreds of pink flamingoes.
