The Dominican Republic is the world's largest producer and exporter of cigars, with over 200 million cigars sold every year. Production is primarily centred around the agricultural region of Cibao, in the northwest of the country. The main manufacturers, meanwhile, have set up business in Santiago de los Caballeros, the region's capital. The country even has a National Cigar Museum. The countless varieties of handrolled cigars are certainly very tempting, the best known brands being Davidoff, Juan Clemente, Arturo Fuente, E Leon Jimenez, and Pleiades.
