Discover Taino Indian culture Dominican Republic

Located between the fishing village of Sanchez and Samana town, the Taino Park might not look like much from the brochures, but actually is extremely well put-together and is a fantastic way of learning about the history of the country's aboriginal Indian tribe, the Tainos. The park's installations form a chronological path tracing the country's history from arrival of the Europeans to the total extinction of the tribe. Audio guides are available and really help with filling in the gaps (available in five languages including English, French, German, Russian and Spanish). Entrance fee: USD15 (open every day; last entrance 4:30pm).
