Air Austral is a French airline company which mainly operates flights between the Roland Garros Airport in La Reunion and destinations in the Indian Ocean.The airline company was first set up under the name Air Reunion, but changed its name in 1990 when Air France bought shares in the company.The Air Austral route map has been expanding since April 2011 and now includes numerous destinations in Asia: Cambodia, China, Vietnam, South Korea, Japan, Singapore, Laos, the Philippines, Indonesia, India and Malaysia, after signing a partnership agreement with the Thai airline company Thai Airways International. Air Austral has also signed contracts with Virgin Australia so that it could offer Air Austral Australia flights, and Lufthansa for flights to Germany.
