Air India is the national airline company of India which was founded in 1932 thanks to Jehangir Ratanji Dadabhoy Tata (JRD Tata, son and heir to a great Indian family of industrialists). Air India has belonged to the Indian state since 1948. It has two hubs; one in Mumbai and one in Delhi. Air India joined the Star Alliance, the third biggest airline company alliance, on the 11th July 2014. In 2014 the Air India fleet consisted of 101 aircrafts, mainly Airbus and Boeing.
