Air Madagascar is an airline created in 1961 and based at the international airport in Antananarivo, the capital of Madagascar. Each year, the Air Madagascar fleet, made up of 11 aircrafts, sends 590,000 passengers to 27 destinations across Madagascar and further afield, for example to islands in the Indian Ocean (La Reunion, Mauritius), Thailand, China and France. There are regular Air Madagascar flights to France each week, therefore although the airline does not serve the UK directly, those travelling to the Madagascan region are likely to have an Air Madagascar flight connection in France.
The Air Madagascar baggage allowance is similar to other airline companies: one item of hand luggage and a further smaller item (laptop, handbag etc.) both of which must not be larger than 115cm in total dimensions or 6kg-12kg in weight (depending on the ticket class). The restrictions for hold baggage vary depending on the flight destination and class. Air Madagascar excess baggage will incur an extra charge of 1 euro/kg for domestic flights and 15 euros/kg for international flights. There is no Air Madagascar online check in service and registration must be done in person at the airport. The check in desk closes 30 minutes before take-off for domestic flights and one hour before departure for regional and long-haul flights.
During Your Flight
All passengers, regardless of the booking class, are given individual screens during their flight which are charged with films, music and television series. Air Madagascar Premium Economy passengers can enjoy higher levels of comfort including reclining seats. Air Madagascar Business Class ticket holders have access to the VIP waiting lounge in the departure airport, priority check in and boarding for their flight, and better quality seating and screens.
After Your Flight
Air Madagascar offers a range of loyalty programme options which can be adapted to your personal travel needs. These include flight discounts for family, young persons, children and seniors.
