It has also been used as a backdrop to famous films such as "For Your Eyes Only" a James Bond movie.

4 Corfu Town

If it's shopping you love then the island's capital is the right choice. It has old and new areas that have many palaces and mansions. Restaurants and cafes can be found in the Liston building which has been modelled on the Rue de Rivoli in Paris.

5 Mirtiotissa Beach

There are so many white sandy beaches to choose from; however Mirtiotissa is probably the best. It's very isolated and can only be reached by a small meandering path. Setting off from Pelekas Village, you'll pass olive groves, cliffs with thyme, myrtle and pine trees growing near the beach.
