When travelling to Estonia, the majority of flights from the United Kingdom will fly to the capital city, Tallinn. There are six major airports that offer commercial flights and Tallinn Airport is the largest, and home to national airline Estonian Air. It is served by 16 airlines out of which easyJet and Ryanair fly to and from the United Kingdom, specifically London Gatwick, Manchester, Dublin and London Stansted. However most flights will include a stopover, as this reduces overall costs, although flight time will vary depending on your stopover destination. When flying with airBaltic you will stop in Riga then fly to Tallinn from there. This total trip time will only take 4 hours 15 minutes. If you fly with Lufthansa then you will take a stop in Frankfurt. This journey is 40 minutes longer. Be sure to do your research on finding a flight that will suit you and your budget. When flying with easyjet you can book cheap flights and you are allowed one item of hand luggage in the cabin. It will cost you a fee to take hold luggage or sports equipment. Check what your airline charges for luggage before you get to the airport so there are no nasty surprises!
