All flights have stopovers, often in Egypt, Dubai or Johannesburg. If you're looking for a cheap flight to Harare, you'll find one easily using our online flight comparison service. The city's architecture is also very impressive; in amongst the modern skyscrapers are contrasting, older buildings reminiscent of the colonial period. Striking historic towers such as the Mining Pension Fund building are definitely worth visitng too.

Flight destination: Harare

The capital city is large and very spread out, so the best way to get around is by road. Car hire facilities are available at the airport and are good value for money. If you do choose to travel by car you should be prepared for frequent vehicle checks at police checkpoints. Taxis operating away from the airport are very cheap, making a good alternative for travellers unable to hire their own vehicles. For larger groups, minibuses also take tourists around town for a relatively low price. For discovering more about Harare's fascinating heritage, visits to the National Gallery, Queen Victoria Museum and Queen Victoria Library are all a must. Or to enjoy some of Zimbabwe's famous wildlife and natural landscape, leave the city and head to Hwange National Park and the breathtaking Victoria Falls. Chapungu Sculpture Park features carvings made from Zimbabwe's common black serpentine rock and is an eye catching sight for appreciators of art - you'll see the sculptures looming into view as you leave the airport. In the evenings, enjoy live music at the Book Cafe.
