Flights to Mali: a country rich in culture and ready to be explored

Mali is home to the historic Timbuktu and four UNESCO World-Heritage sites, both of which attract many tourists. The country has five airports that serve commercial flights, the largest being in the capital city Bamako which offers flights from nineteen airlines. There are fifteen airports in the United Kingdom and Ireland that you can fly to Mali from, including Heathrow, Manchester, Gatwick, Edinburgh and Cardiff. However there are no direct flights to Mali. Air France fly from Heathrow to Paris before going on to Bamako, and stopovers will increase your journey time but may reduce costs. Turkish airlines offer more flights to Bamako from Manchester and they include a stopover in Istanbul Ataturk. This journey will be longer but may also be much cheaper than other deals.Bamako's Senou International Airport is 13km out of the city centre. Public buses are easily available from the airport into the city and vice versa. There are also shuttle buses that run from the airport that you can book. If you plan on driving during your stay you may wish to book a rental car from the airport with either Hertz or Locatour, with both offices located near the terminal.
