Why not begin your exploration of Asia in the beautiful "teardrop of India"? Easyvoyage can help you to get there for less with cheap Sri Lanka flights.
Sri Lanka is home to an array of interesting cultural and environmental wonders and Sri Lanka flights do not have to be expensive. Cheap flights to Colombo, for example, can be found from as little as 461.
Colombo is the only international airport in the country and flights to Colombo often include stopovers in Kuwait or another country in the Gulf.
It is important to take the local weather in Sri Lanka into consideration when searching for airline tickets to Sri Lanka in order to avoid getting caught out in the rain. This 66000km squared island has an extremely varied climate dependent on the altitude and monsoons. The south-west coast experiences the most sunshine and least rainfall between January and March. As a result flight deals from November through to February can be quite expensive. Nevertheless, in March it is possible to find cheaper flight tickets and make the most of the beach weather as well as the North and East of the island.
March is also the best time to visit the Sacred City of Kandy, a Buddhist site home to the Royal Palace and Temple of the Tooth Relic (the sacred tooth of the Buddha). Unfortunately, it is impossible to escape the rain showers that occur in the mountainous inner island where these relics are found, however these usually only last a short amount of time in March.
Finally it should be noted that tourists often flock to Sri Lanka in December, July and August and consequently flights to Sri Lanka at this time can increase quite significantly.
