The prefecture of Haute-Savoie is one of the country's major tourist sites. It has to be said that the medieval city, curled up in the hollow of its large lake lined with villages and fortresses and with a backcloth of the Alps providing some of the most spectacular views, makes up one of the most romantic images of the Alps.
A pleasant holiday spot offering a whole host of activities (from sailing to hiking), Annecy is also an ideal starting point for discovering the land of Savoie, its art of living, and its sublime landscapes.
