Discover Compiègne cake and picantins

Often referred to as the 'Napoleon Dessert', the Compiègne cake consists of layers of baked leavened dough sprinkled with sugar and glazed in the oven. Pineapple slices are then sandwiched in between and the middle is filled with warm pineapple chunks in apricot syrup.
Remember, too, that no visit to Compiègne is complete without trying picantins (the emblems of the city), roasted Italian hazelnuts coated in nougatine and chocolate and dipped in dark chocolate flakes.
