Discover Les vins de Bourgogne France

The wines of Burgundy are known and appreciated around the world. With its 84 AOC wines and 114 mi² of land, it isn't very easy to figure out what's what when you're not an experienced oenologist.
However, it is possible to distinguish four grape varieties at the base of Burgundy wines: Pinot Noir, Gamay, Chardonnay and Aligoté.
Two of these varieties are regarded as "noble", Pinot Noir (which is the variety used in superior red wines) and Chardonnay (used in superior white wines), while Gamay (used for red wines) and Aligoté (used for white wines) are regarded as more common.

Wines made from Pinot Noir grapes represent Burgundy's most popular red wines. Their great longevity makes them excellent wines to hold onto. Specialists particularly appreciate the delicate and unique balance between the smoothness and intensity of these wines.
If their youth is marked by the flavours of red and black berries, violets and spices, they reveal their smooth intensity as they age, producing animal notes and notes of ripe fruit and undergrowth.

The white wines made from Chardonnay Always fruity with a hint of flowers, as they age, these wines evolve to produce notes of roasted hazelnuts, mushrooms and dried fruit.
