Discover The City of Science and Industry France

The City of Science and Industry is part of a comprehensive project involving the construction of a park and various buildings on the site of the city's former abattoirs in the La Villette district of Paris. The aim of the project is to redevelop the north-east entrance to the city. Having been launched in 1976, the project was initially intended to transform the sale room of the new abattoirs, built in 1969, but it was abandoned in 1974 in favour of the Museum of Science.

The architect highlighted the old original structure, consisting of concrete pillars covered in granite and blue steel girders, emphasizing the monumental appearance of the building by adding trenches and pools. Meanwhile, a series of greenhouse-like structures on the south side of the building lead through to the park. Alongside the main building you'll find the Geode, built by the same architect and housing a 1,000m² panoramic cinema screen.
