There's nothing better than a little walk to explore the phenomena of the tides and bogs (quicksands at the edge of the sea), or the fauna and fishes in the bay, far from tourist and man's activities.
These hikes are organised in full respect for the environment and wildlife and enable visitors to better understand this ecosystem. Discovery walks: for families, this is an easy stroll which allows you to discover the wide open spaces on the bay, the quicksand and the shellfish. (5 mi; between 4 and 5 hours of peaceful walking). Le banc des Hermelles (Hermelles Bank): Walk on a sandy reef made by marine worms: the honeycomb worms.
This walk will give you the possibility to fish on foot. (8 mi; between 5 and 6 hours of walking).
An outing into the heart of the bay: departure from the polders before encountering the sand and the sea, while all the while paying close attention to the tides! Then a walk across the Couesnon and through the Madagascar sand bank. (8 to 10 mi for a 5 to 7-hour hike).
A fauna and flora discovery walk: this walk is the chance to see the local wildlife (water birds, birds of prey, seals), (6 to 10 mi - 5 to 7 hours of walking).
Other walking ideas will be presented to you, such as a ?sortie délire' (mad outing) to test your resistance to the pull of quicksand, or ?La Grande Traversée de la Baie' (The Great Crossing of the Bay), with 15 and a half mi of sand and stunning scenery.
