With its 234,000 inhabitants, Kutaisi is Georgia's second largest city. Today the Capital of Imereti, it used to be an important commercial crossroad, thanks to the passage of the Rioni River. On the main square, you will find the town's History and Ethnography Museum, which hosts archaeological collections. In KazbÚgui Street, you will notice the Cathedral of God's Mother, partly destroyed by the Turks in 1692. Finally, another point of interest is Besiki Park which you can access thanks to a cable-car situated near the King Alexander of Imereti garden. From up there you can enjoy a gorgeous view over the town and its surroundings.
