There's no need to travel all around Europe to visit its various countries: a simple trip to Germany will do. Visitors will not only be taken to foreign lands, they will also experience many thrills...Intrigued? All of this happens in the town of Rust in Germany, just 31 miles from Strasbourg. Opened in 1975, Europa-Park is the biggest seasonal theme park in the world. Its 13 European sections (France, Spain, Italy, Russia, Iceland, etc.) cover more than 230 acres. Here you will come across a refreshing river, hundred-year-old trees, and even a 15th century castle.
In addition to the cuisine and the architecture of the different destinations, visitors are invited to try the park's hundred or so attractions. There are no fewer than 11 roller coasters in the park, with the stars being: the Silver Star, the highest and longest roller coaster in Europe, the Blue Fire Megacoaster that launches riders from 0 to 62 mph in 2.5 seconds, and the Wodan Timbur Coaster that will knock your socks off despite the vintage look of its wooden tracks!
Eleven roller coasters but only one loop the loop, if you only count the ones in the attractions! The park also has one of the most original restaurants, which is where the park's second loop the loop comes in...Food and drinks have to go through it before arriving on your plate! No waiters here. Firmly attached to a mini wagon, the miniature pots run along mini roller coasters that take them straight to your table.
Those who prefer their entertainment in a slightly calmer form, and parents with young children, no need to worry - there's something for everyone at Europa-Park. In addition to taking peaceful walks around the streets of the European capitals, families can also ride the calmer carousels and watch the various shows. Our favourite: the 4D cinema that might leave you slightly wet...
