Our Editorial team's advice

Located on the eastern coast of the island of Rhodes, just over 30 miles from the capital, it really is worth visiting and getting lost in the small streets of the splendid village of Lindos. Chock-full of all kinds of shops, the decor here is typical of what you usually find on the Greek islands. Souvenir vendors, bars and restaurants (and the smell of crepes!) are lined up next to one another in little whitewashed constructions. The village lies below a superb acropolis concealing a medieval citadel as well as a traditional temple. You will, however, need to have some patience in getting there, since the path is steep and the steps numerous. The reward, though, is that along the way you get to see some beautiful panoramas from more than a hundred metres above the sea. Those less courageous don't necessarily need to miss out, thanks to a local attraction: going up on the back of a donkey. Whatever your tastes, try and travel to Rhodes-Lindos if you have the chance.
