Discover Hunting Greenland

Hunting is the activity that enables the Inuits to survive in Greenland's extreme conditions. Among the desired animals, seals rank first. Its flesh was eaten by humans and dogs, its fat was a protection against the cold, its skin was used to make clothes or tents. The tales and legend attest it, hunting was part of the Eskimos' culture. Today, it has been replaced by fishing for economic reasons. Clothes are still made with seal skin but hunting does not have the same importance as it did before. Eskimos are particularly attached to their culture and still continue to practice it.
