The Adrar Hotel is an ageing structure without the slightest pretension. However, as a guest you will feel at home here. The good will of the staff probably plays an important role in this. The rooms have all been renovated, and really stand out thanks to their bright colours. Touches of very kitsch decoration give the hotel a unique and unusual character.

Agadir city centre is 1,312 ft away. The hotel surroundings do not make you want to take a stroll, as the hotel itself is located on a very busy avenue on which many characterless hotels are located. The transfer from the airport, a distance of approximately 15 mi, takes about 30 minutes by car.
In total the hotel has 170 large rooms, including 10 suites. They have all been renovated. A lift gives access to the various floors. In order to reach your room, you will need to take long, dark corridors with few redeeming features. Once inside your room, the colours burst out all around you: the walls have recently been repainted in yellow and blood orange, and the tiled floors are white. When night falls, only a low level of lighting is provided. The rooms have balconies and are furnished with small armchairs, a telephone with an international line, a television (big screen) and air conditioning. Room service is available from 4:00 am to 11:00 am, then from 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm. The bathrooms are built into the corner and are fitted with a bathtub and a bidet, soap is also available. Try not to dwell on the finishing touches. The toilets are separated.
Built in 1978 and renovated in 2005, the Adrar is comprised of two 5-storey buildings set at right angles. Guests are welcomed into a big lobby with surprising decor, including zebra-striped sofas. The mixture of styles is both disconcerting and amusing. Just next to the reception there is a Moroccan lounge where a pianist plays in the evenings in the bar adjoining the reception. In the middle of the swimming pool, which is 32.80 ft in diameter, a DJ plays music from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm. A large concrete terrace winds its way around the complex. There are no parasols in sight; in order to find some shade you must seek refuge beside the amphitheatre that surrounds one half of the swimming pool. There are deckchairs on the lawn.
With its low ceiling painted in pale pink and bright apple green, the only restaurant (buffet service) in the Adrar offers very little choice. It is open from 6.00 am until 10.00 am, then from 12.00 pm until 3.00 pm, and for dinner from 7.00 pm until 10.00 pm (with one Moroccan night a week). The midday meal is one for your taste buds to savour. If this does not suit you, you can always turn to the swimming pool snack-bar, although you will not find a wide selection of dishes or drinks on offer here either.
Agadir beach is about 1,312 ft away. It is a long beach, more than 4 mi in length, and it is often windy.
Just opposite the hotel entrance is a 1970's nightclub that also welcomes non-residents. Like the hotel, this too is an ageing establishment where the smell of tobacco smoke has taken firm hold.

There is no doubt that the Atlantic Palace is one of only a handful of hotels in Agadir to be truly of an international standard. Of an impressive scale, the hotel boasts smart, spacious rooms and suites, well kept and pleasant public spaces, a wellness centre worthy of the name and a good choice of quality eating concessions. The décor and design is head and shoulders above most other properties as is the staff and of course the location, being situated just across the road from the beachfront. Whether travelling as a couple, family or group of friends, if it is quality you are after then few places can top the Atlantic Palace - it should definitely be in your short list.
A club hotel par excellence, the Almoggar is a large full-service family hotel right on the Agadir beachfront. The rooms are apartment-like in style and are basic but functional while the large public areas are pleasant to be in. There is a full animation programme for both adults and kids and thanks to its height there are some good oceans views to be had from the hotel. Food is not one of the strong points at the Almoggar but given the hotel's rates this should not be a surprise. We are sure though that children will enjoy their stay here which will in turn please the parents!

Without a doubt the best of the second row of hotels in Agadir, the Timoulay is a very pleasant hotel indeed, suitable for couples, small families or even groups of friends looking for value for money but not necessarily worried about being right on the beach. The rooms are very spacious and well appointed, the décor is in good taste, the food is reasonable, the staff personable and the spa, unlike so many of its neighbours', actually resembles a spa. The hotel is also fairly quiet and intimate and is a place that one may well choose to relax in rather than head out to the beach or the town. The Timoulay certainly gets our seal of approval!
A small, homely hotel in the town centre of Agadir, the Aferni has something charming about it despite being basic and dated. It lacks the services and entertainment of the larger complexes closer to the coast but if you are looking for a quieter place to stay during your time here then this could be an option. The rooms are fairly bare but may have large bathrooms while it also has a quiet pool area and restaurant and is clean and well kept for the most part. Do not expect grand service and extra touches here and there, but if you want a simple, tranquil place for a night or two then the Aferni is to be considered.
On the fourth floor of the Sud Bahia hotel there are a series of drawings along the corridor. One of them depicts a young Moroccan girl with tears rolling down her face. And quite frankly after having seen this hotel, we fully understand why. Dated, tired and thoroughly depressing, it looks as though nothing has changed here in about thirty years. The lobby of the property tells you everything you need to know. Not only is it a good hike from the beach, but it has poor facilities, balconies so small that you could not relax on them and little to no atmosphere. It is the type of place that you check into when you turn up to a place without a reservation and you have had no luck with any of the other places in town. One to be avoided if at all possible.
The Tildi is an unexceptional family property located in a no man's land part of the resort of Agadir. While the rooms are in decent condition they are pretty uninspiring as are the common areas of the hotel. The most attractive part of the hotel is arguably its swimming pool which is well exposed and enjoys pleasant surroundings. The hotel does have a spa but it is nothing to write home about which is also true for the food, which we found to be extremely mediocre. Not a million miles from the beach and with some soft animation (games, activities, competitions etc), the Tildi might suit a family or couple on a budget who don't feel the need to be at the centre of the action in the town.
If you are looking for a good family hotel where all ages can have a good time then the Beach Albatros is one place you might have to consider. Pretty close to the beach being one of the front row of hotels, it is a relatively large complex with everything you need for a successful holiday. The rooms, of which there is only one category, are fairly well appointed although could be bigger, the outdoor spaces are animated and convivial and the standard of food is above average for Agadir. In addition to the entertainment for the little ones, the adults can take advantage of the decent spa facility and for party-goers the biggest nightclub in the town will soon be open. The Beach Albatros is a good value property where your needs, if not too high, will be met.
This is by far and away the best hotel in Agadir. It is the only world class property in the resort and it beats every other hotel hands down in pretty much every way, from the design to the service and from the dining to the wellness facilities. Its beachfront location, away from the tacky tourist centre of Agadir, makes it the only place to consider for a truly relaxing luxury holiday. One could reproach the hotel for the size of its standard rooms, but they are immaculately appointed and both comfortable and functional. Also perfect are the hotel's grounds and public spaces which means that you probably will not have the remotest desire t to leave this heavenly complex. Although children are welcome at the Sofitel Agadir Thalassa Sea and Spa, the property is more suited for couples.
The only charming hotel in the Agadir seaside resort. Compared to most of the city's club hotels, the Riad Villa Blanche is in a category all its own. Here, calm, tranquillity and refinement are the keywords. A place to relax in a cosy atmosphere, far from the hustle and bustle of Agadir.
The older of the two Sofitels in Agadir, the Royalbay is, together with its sister hotel, head and shoulders above all other hotels in the resort in pretty well every aspect. With the exception of the newer of the pair of French properties, the Royalbay's architecture and design is unparalleled as is the standard of the service, food and facilities. The guestrooms are spacious and extremely well appointed, the public spaces are impeccably maintained and you will not find a smarter kids club anywhere. As well as enjoying a beachfront location the hotel also boasts a quiet spot along the bay, away from the chaos of the tourist centre. The one thing we were surprised about is the lack of privacy on the terraces and balconies of the rooms, especially the most expensive.
Here you are entering one of the most beautiful hotels in Agadir, which is set apart by its location: far from the beach, outside Agadir, but on a 36-hole golf course and with a superb spa. The surroundings here exude peace and luxury. Opened in February 2007, the Riad combines Moroccan and contemporary styles. It's a shame the restaurant isn't up to the same standard.
Located on the seafront, the Riu Tikida Beach Golf & Spa is a hotel offering "all inclusive" service of international standard and in a simple and relaxed atmosphere. It is one of the nicest hotels in Agadir.

Right on the waterfront, the Tikida Dunas is a beautiful, new and very well maintained hotel, which offers many activities. Situated in a 12-acre park, almost all of the buildings face the Atlantic Ocean. Ideal for families and all those looking for tranquillity.
