Amy Adejokun Section editor

This charming hotel, just a stone's throw from the Royal Château of Amboise, is one of the best places to stay in the town. The decor in this beautiful 18th century building is worthy of a King. Without a doubt, the hotel's main asset is its unobstructed view of the Loire River and the château from the guest rooms.

    Accommodation 7.45 /10

The Manoir des Minimes has 11 guest rooms in the manor and 4 guest rooms in the lodge at the entrance to the grounds. Most of the guest rooms have a view of the Loire River or the château and all of them feature different decor in an antique style. Large solid wood furniture, Toile de Jouy-patterned curtains, and exposed beams that add a touch of charm. The ambiance is cosy although a little sombre. It has to be said that the decor is sure to please foreign tourists who come to experience the much-famed French way of life. The French are likely to be less impressed by this type of period decoration. Although guests are immersed in the era of French royalty, the hotel owner has not forgotten to equip the guest rooms with the modern-day comforts. All of them come with a safe, air-conditioning, Wi-Fi and a bathroom. The latter are fitted with either a shower or a bathtub, and a hair-dryer, bathrobes and slippers are provided. Note that some suites also have a superb chimney. The guest rooms in the lodge are decorated in a more contemporary style, with tiling rather than wooden floors.

As soon as you enter the Manoir des Minimes, you discover period decor, wooden floors, moulding, gilding, antique furniture, and more. The French way of life is displayed here in all its glory. On the ground floor, guests will find various little lounges where they can relax, read, or drink a hot chocolate by the fireplace.
