The Eco Resort Angra (previously the Blue Tree Park) is a member of the Portuguese hotel group Vila Gale hotels. It opened in 2001 and undergoes regular renovations. The establishment's 319 guest rooms are housed in 2 rather ugly 2 storey buildings, but getting to the rooms can sometimes prove to be a long and complicated affair. Nestled at the foot of tropical forest-covered hills, the vast exotic garden is criss-crossed with flower-lined pathways, wooden bridges, and an artificial river. The lagoon pool, which is nearly 1m70 deep, is open from 8:00am to 7:00pm. It is nicely designed with waterfalls, flowery little islands with palm trees, and a pool bar. An area is set aside for water sports (water polo and water volleyball) and for swimming lengths. The solarium terrace is furnished with cushioned plastic deckchairs and parasols made of palm leaves or white fabric. This is also where the showers are located. Towels are provided on site as well. The mini-club is huge and has an incredible range of facilities. In an ideal location between the beach and the swimming pool, it has a bubble pool, ping pong table, play area, and a swimming pool with a waterfall and a slide. When you add the zipline and tree-climbing assault course, you can be sure your kids won't be in any hurry to leave at the end of the holiday! The sports facilities include tennis, beach volleyball, beach soccer, and basketball pitches, and there is also a cutting edge gym and a running track nearly half a mile long. Afterwards, why not wind down in the spa, which has 4 treatment and massage rooms, including one for couples. The products used here are by the L'Occitane brand. The spa also has a relaxation room, a sauna, and a hammam.
