Hotel Four Seasons Mauritius at Anahita Hotel 5 star

The Four Seasons Mauritius at Anahita opened on 1st October 2008 and is exactly what you would expect of an establishment bearing the Four Seasons name. It is a superb hotel offering a wide range of services, all characterised by pure luxury, which makes it difficult to find any downsides. All of the staff do their utmost to please each and every guest. Melina, the customer service manager, is quite simply adorable. This establishment is suitable for both couples and families, though you would probably enjoy the surroundings more as a couple. The Four Seasons belongs to the Anahita World Class Sanctuary.

    Location 8.0 /10

Located on the east coast of the island of Mauritius, the Four Seasons is around an hour and a half drive from Port Louis and the transfer time from the airport is around 45 minutes.

    Accommodation 9.20 /10

Accommodation at the Four Seasons consists of 90 villas and 41 residences, all of which have a private pool and are classified according to their size (105 to 375m²) and the views they offer (garden, lagoon or mangrove). The 1 storey villas are superb and have a large terrace complete with a sofa bed, whilst the king size bed faces outwards so you can make the most of the view. The contemporary decor is a little flowery in places but is nevertheless discrete. The bathroom extends into the outdoors, with a slate floor that really sets off the washbasins. All the rooms have a television, air conditioning, a free safe, a direct international telephone line, 24-hour room service, a hair dryer, slippers and bathrobes. A Wifi internet connection is also available for an additional 4 pounds a day. Like the villas, the residences are also one storey buildings, but have between two to six bedrooms. Their contemporary marble and wood decor can be found throughout the rest of the hotel. The bathroom, which opens onto the bedroom, has an outdoor waterfall shower. The soft, elegant tones of the interior reflect a style which is typical of the Four Seasons.

    Overview 9.20 /10

The contemporary Mauritian style of the Four Seasons makes it quite simply a magnificent establishment. Its elegant and private entrance hall is heralded by a veranda and leads through into the black marble reception area, with its water wall feature to the rear. In terms of decor, marble and wood both feature heavily throughout the hotel, complementing the beautifully maintained lush vegetation. The hotel is divided into two parts, the second of which is on Ile aux Chats ('Cat island'). You needn't worry, though, as there are plenty of facilities here, including the main swimming pool, several restaurants, a few of the villas and even the spa, which includes 12 treatment rooms built on stilts. Everything here has been designed to help you feel as relaxed as possible, and there is even a private room where you can change and take a shower before your massage, complete with all the necessary products like shampoo, shower gel and even a hairbrush. Various treatments are available, including a therapeutic sugar cane massage that begins with a ritual washing of the feet. Your therapist will then offer you a variety of massage oils that combine the scents of the island, such as coconut and ylang ylang. Ask for the lovely Sherryl if possible - she really does work magic! As far as sports activities are concerned, the hotel's fitness centre, which is open from 7:00am to 9:00pm, has the latest high quality machines as well as a 25m swimming lane, and a total of 16 different fitness classes are organised every week. Don't panic if you've forgotten to pack your gear, though - the hotel provides complimentary clothing.

    Food and drink 8.20 /10

The Four Seasons has 4 restaurants, including The Big Easy golf club restaurant, which opens at breakfast time and prepares simple à la carte dishes throughout the day. As for the main restaurant, the Beau Champ, it's hard to find fault here. Breakfast and dinner are a true feast, with a menu of southern French-influenced dishes served in a U-shaped dining room with both an indoor area and an outdoor veranda. The contemporary decor consists of a combination of white and slate with, once again, the omnipresent marble and wood. The Acquapazza is located on Ile aux Chats and is a split-level open-air restaurant that serves delicious contemporary Italian cuisine for both lunch and dinner. Last but not least, the Bamboo, which sits facing the mountain of the same name, serves Asian cuisine with Mauritian, Indian, Thai, Indonesian and Japanese influences, and hosts a poolside Creole barbecue on Fridays.

    Beach 8.20 /10

With fine sand, crystal clear water and very little wind, the beach at the Four Seasons is truly superb, the only downsides being that it could be a little larger and the water is very shallow. Nevertheless, there is enough space here for everyone to have their own privacy, and you don't even have to set up your own deck chair and parasol, as there are attendants on hand to do it for you. There is also a water sports club offering various activities, though motorised sports do incur an additional charge. If you fancy a change of scenery though, you can always take the shuttle across to Ile aux Cerfs ('Deer Island').

    To know

Guests staying at the hotel can participate in all of the activities available throughout the complex, which includes a superb 18-hole golf course designed by the famous Ernie Els and managed by the Four Seasons.
There is an excellent Kid's Club Village for children ages 4 to 12 that includes various facilities specially provided for children within these ages. As for teenagers, they can hang out at the Karokan, which has everything to keep young people occupied, including a television, an X-Box console and a Wii, among other things. Different age-related activities, including cookery classes, water sports and shows are organised every day to keep youngsters occupied.

Nestled in the heart of a 526-acre estate, Anahita The Resort opened its doors to its first lucky guests on 1 June 2008. To say that it is a luxurious hotel is an understatement, with its gastronomic cuisine, more than comfortable apartments, allocated butler, etc. The Anahita is more than just a hotel, it is a seaside resort community. Everything is possible here, as far as is reasonable!

Opened in April 2011, the Long Beach takes its name from its huge beach that stretches out for nearly a mile. The property also has a 195 acre playground. It really goes without saying that there is enough room for everyone. Composed of around 500,000 plants, the gardens are simply splendid. The coconut trees that were growing here before the establishment was built are still the same ones; they were kept in safekeeping for the two years that it took to build the hotel. The Long Beach is incontestably a contemporary hotel that has rejuvenated the Mauritian hotel industry. Its decor is superb, from the lobby to the guest rooms to the restaurants. However, hopefully walking doesn't bother you, since some of the communal areas of some of the rooms are quite far. That being said, you can always borrow one of the hotel's golf carts.
