The contemporary Mauritian style of the Four Seasons makes it quite simply a magnificent establishment. Its elegant and private entrance hall is heralded by a veranda and leads through into the black marble reception area, with its water wall feature to the rear. In terms of decor, marble and wood both feature heavily throughout the hotel, complementing the beautifully maintained lush vegetation. The hotel is divided into two parts, the second of which is on Ile aux Chats ('Cat island'). You needn't worry, though, as there are plenty of facilities here, including the main swimming pool, several restaurants, a few of the villas and even the spa, which includes 12 treatment rooms built on stilts. Everything here has been designed to help you feel as relaxed as possible, and there is even a private room where you can change and take a shower before your massage, complete with all the necessary products like shampoo, shower gel and even a hairbrush. Various treatments are available, including a therapeutic sugar cane massage that begins with a ritual washing of the feet. Your therapist will then offer you a variety of massage oils that combine the scents of the island, such as coconut and ylang ylang. Ask for the lovely Sherryl if possible - she really does work magic! As far as sports activities are concerned, the hotel's fitness centre, which is open from 7:00am to 9:00pm, has the latest high quality machines as well as a 25m swimming lane, and a total of 16 different fitness classes are organised every week. Don't panic if you've forgotten to pack your gear, though - the hotel provides complimentary clothing.
