The hotel is impressive from the beginning, starting with its lovely, bright lobby where a host of decorative lighting features, ornaments and painted glass art by local artists compete for your attention. Under a huge glass atrium the reception area is awash in leather and velvet furnishings. Meanwhile, the lobby bar feels modern and inviting.
The resort is just the size to not feel impersonal, consisting of eight three-storey blocks that surround the outdoor pool. The centrepiece of the hotel, the pool is lagoon style complete with palm treed-island and bridge, snazzy wooden sun loungers and fluffy towels. There's even an 'anti-stress' pebble walkway at the pool's edge to set you up for moments of relaxation.
If tranquility and indulgence is what you're after, check into their 'And You' spa where a candlelit stairway leads you to an underground sanctuary. Attracting a mix of both hotel guests and locals for its wide range of treatments (ladies come from far and wide to try the honey scrub and massage), this impeccably presented spa features a huge Turkish bath, sauna, steam room and well-equipped fitness room complete with three flat screens.
For rainy days, there is even an underground passage that connects the different sections of the hotel, bypassing the hotel's heated indoor pool, not unlike a giant rock pool hidden inside a cave. The only restaurant on-site overlooks the pool.
