On impact alone, Casa Dell'Arte hits the spot. As its name suggests, this beautiful hotel in a tranquil corner of Bodrum is indeed a 'house of art'. Classy and modern yet unpretentious, the Casa Dell'Arte is for lovers of art, or even just lovers... From the exquisite art collection to the attentive but discreet service, no detail has been forgotten. Owned by a prominent art collecting family from Istanbul (where they run an art gallery), the Casa Dell'Arte attracts a who's who of Turkey's movers and shakers. Location 10.0 /10

The Casa Dell'Arte is situated in the charming bay of Torba, only a 10 minute drive north of Bodrum town and 18 miles to the Milas-Bodrum international airport. Once a sleepy fishing village, Torba is an up and coming corner of Bodrum competing with the neighbouring Golturkbuku for the title of "Turkey's St Tropez."

    Accommodation 8.95 /10

An impressive combination of art, design and style, the twelve suites at the Casa Dell'Arte are luxurious hideaways perfect for a pampered getaway. The sea view rooms (100m) are easily the most jaw dropping with their large terraces and sweeping views, spacious bathrooms (and huge tub), gleaming light fixtures and candles to set the mood. However whichever room you find yourself in you won't be disappointed for they are all well appointed, swanky and above all comfortable.

Besides the amazing art hanging on the walls, each suite features a large flat screen TV, CD/DVD system, his and hers bathrobes and slippers and an enormous custom made Tempur bed. Less like a hotel room and more like the guest room at the house of a wealthy art fan friend, each suite is immaculate. The large windows provide lashings of light, the bearskin rugs on the timber floors add warmth, while the contemporary style furniture adds flair. And to top it all off, the suites are between 70m and 140m so there is plenty of space to soak up your lavish surroundings.

    Overview 8.45 /10

From the time you pass through Casa Dell'Arte's sturdy antique wooden doors until the time you exit them it is hard to be nothing but impressed. The hotel looks and feels brand spanking new with 12 magnificent suites, each named after an astrological sign. The small reception area opens directly on to the long, rectangular 'silent' pool that serves as a centrepiece for the hotel, although one might wonder if its purpose is more aesthetic rather than functional. To the left and right of the pool is the hotel's art gallery showcasing a range of paintings, cultural objects and photography.

Just as the art gallery is split in two, so too are the suites, divided between two 'wings.' The pool leads to a magnificent internal courtyard dominated by exquisite chandeliers (sourced in India) and dotted with French antique daybeds. A soundtrack of Latin jazz grooves plays unobtrusively in the background. But the best is yet to come; in the main building facing the sea are casual and formal lounging and dining areas decorated with the most sumptuous objets d'art; from a 200 year old gilt door from the Turkish city of Edirne, to the handmade wooden chest from Kirikkale inlaid with mother of pearl (also hundreds of years old). But that's before you fix your eyes on the impressive collection of classical and contemporary Turkish paintings, the Botero chef d'oeuvre or even the grand piano.

Stepping out onto the porch you are granted your first view of the sea and the hotel's perfectly manicured gardens. A small Jacuzzi and sheltered outdoor bar are either side of a path that takes you directly on to a small sandy beach. Also of note; the well-equipped fitness room (fitted out in Technogym gear, no less) that is more than adequate for a hotel of its size and the hotel 'cinema,' a projection room complete with enormous comfy leather couch and ceiling 'stars.'

    Food and drink 8.95 /10

The food at the Casa Dell'Arte is fresh, tasty and varied, with a significant focus on Turkish dishes. For those who wish to do some of their own cooking, there is a large kitchen at guests' disposition. Breakfast is eaten in the dining room or on the garden terrace overlooking the bay where guests are served a large Turkish spread of tomato, cucumber, cheese, olives, fresh fruit, toasted pita bread and preserves. In winter or when the hotel is full, breakfast is set up on a buffet in the dining room. For other meals, you may dine either on the garden terrace, on the porch or in the spectacular dining room; at the long, wooden table covered in candelabras and overlooked by stunning artwork. Next door at the luxury family resort there are a number of dining and drinking options such as the waterfront Gonca fish restaurant and the Frida Beach Club, the hotel's trendy beach bar.

    Beach 7.45 /10

In the calm sheltered bay of Torba, the private beach at the Casa Dell'Arte is dominated by a large T-shaped jetty where the sun loungers are dressed with neatly rolled red towels. The beach itself is brown sand typical of the region but the water is cleaner than that of central Bodrum or Gumbet. However there's nothing better than sipping a cocktail while enjoying superb 180 views, eyeing the elegant yachts bob up and down in the bright turquoise waters of Torba bay...

    To know

Casa Dell'Arte is divided into three main sections, the residence, the luxury family resort and the private villa. Unlike many other hotels that operate on a seasonal basis, the Casa Dell'Arte residence is open all year round. You may even spot a star! The hotel possesses three yachts available for private charter as well as a collection of classic cars available for hire. 24 hour security and a friendly 'guard' dog oversee a priceless collection of over 200 works of art. The 'art to take home' concept means that any pieces with the red Casa Dell'Arte logo are available for purchase. Children under the age of 12 are not permitted in the residence section but only at the luxury family resort next door.

LUX* Bodrum Resort & Residences opened its doors for the first time in June 2017. It's the first Mauritian facility in the Mediterranean. Just like all hotels, this place plays with the concept of "Lighter and Brighter," but it also plays with the concept of "Reasons to Go", (these are just a few good reasons to stay at LUX* Bodrum Resort & Residences) to show and priotise their clients priviledges.

'Humungous' is a word that comes to mind when thinking of the Club Magic Life in Bodrum. 'Families' is another. So if you like your holiday resorts on the extra-large side with a strong family atmosphere, the Club Magic Life could be for you. To be honest, as far as huge all-inclusive clubs go you could do worse for the resort is not only family-friendly but eco-friendly and lots of fun too.
