Now here is a 4 star hotel worthy of its rating! With so few of them about, this is something worth applauding! It really does have everything down to a tee, from the decor and the service to the comfort and the cuisine, not forgetting the superb views, the great location, and even lovely outdoor areas. What makes this hotel unusual, though, is its intimate casino, its very pleasant spa, and its seasonal entertainment for families. In fact, the hotel changes its identity every season.

    Location 4.18 /10

The hotel is located 2.5 mi from Budva, a town that stands pretty much in the middle of the Montenegran coast. It is also just a 5 minute walk from Becici beach (150m away), which is the best known in the area. The airports at Tivat and Podgorica are some 16 mi and 47 mi away respectively, whilst the famous hotel-island Svetu Stefan is just over 2 mi away.

    Accommodation 8.45 /10

The 236 reasonably-sized modern guest rooms are pleasant and bright. They feature basic but effective decor, including wooden floorboards, a wooden balcony, air conditioning, and modern furniture, all of which is perfectly tasteful. You'll also find an armchair that doubles as a children's bed, a small flat screen television on the wall, a minibar, a safe, and a desk where you can connect to the Internet: everything you need for a pleasant stay! The small but pleasant bathrooms are clean and come with a hair dryer, hospitality products, make-up mirror, and bathtub, so you can't really complain, and you'll certainly have all the space you need to spend some time dolling yourself up for your other half!

    Overview 8.45 /10

This large, white 6 storey building certainly keeps its cards close to its chest. Not the most welcoming from the outside, once you step foot inside and past the reception, you'll find the surroundings are entirely modern. The huge lobby area, which initially seems to be a little dim, turns out to be a very pleasant space that has been designed so that everyone can find their own little corner, whether alone, with a partner, or as a family. As the focal point of the hotel, you can see pretty much everything from here: tilt your head and you can see the restaurant, eyes up and you'll see the guest rooms to the one side and the à la carte restaurant and casino to the other, and in front, access to the spa, the bar, and the pool tables. Finally, go past the large picture windows and head out onto the beautiful terrace overlooking the sea, complete with an infinity pool. This is a great place to spend some time if you don't want to have to travel miles to access the other facilities. There are a few things we should point out when it comes to the spa, which is worthy of a more detailed description and some additional information. First, you're sure to receive a warm welcome from the very tall (1m80+) young ladies manning the reception desk. Second, the indoor pool is just fantastic, topped with a glass roof and affording direct access to the terrace and infinity pool. Looking out over the sea, this deck is furnished with tables and chairs where you can enjoy a drink and even watch the live entertainment provided on certain nights.

    Food and drink 7.45 /10

The main restaurant is located downstairs, in a spacious, dark, and slightly kitsch room, but one that does boast its own terrace, which is essential for avoiding pungent smells. Meals here are served as a buffet and the food is perfectly decent and quite varied. If you'd like something a little more sophisticated though, head to the à la carte restaurant upstairs. What you'll get here is carefully prepared fine cuisine with strong flavours, impeccable service, and elegant yet low key surroundings, with the exception of the carpeting. During the summer months there's a snack bar on the beach just a 5 minute walk from the hotel, serving pizzas, pasta dishes, and ice cream. This way, you won't have to go back up to the hotel for lunch.

    Beach 7.45 /10

Becici beach is just a 5 minute walk from the hotel (150m) and is accessed via a series of steps. Deckchairs, parasols, and towels are provided on the beach for guests' convenience, and you'll find a snack bar open here during the summer months. As for the beach itself, it's perfectly pleasant but nothing particularly special, though you really can't fault the turquoise waters.

    To know

A DJ takes to the decks here every weekend.
The split-level Presidential Suite is superb! Modern, with a terrace-top whirlpool bath, sauna, and modern furniture, it really is the perfect place to stay!
Free Wifi and a cable Internet connection are available if you have your own computer with you; otherwise you'll have to pay for the privilege. The hotel's 3 conference rooms have a capacity of 150 people.

This is a nice hotel if you like large and rather impersonal establishments. The interior decorating, level of comfort, location, and spa in particular, all live up to the hotel's 5 stars. However, this doesn't extend to the cuisine, which shows much room for improvement! No one is perfect though!

The modern and luxurious Avala Resort stands just at the foot of the old town of Budva and is best-suited to business travellers and other jet set clientele. That is not to say that families aren't welcome, but they probably won't find what they're looking for in a holiday since there is nothing here designed to appeal to families. What you will have, though, is a choice between guest rooms and villas!

The Iberostar must be the most family-friendly hotel in the trendy resort of Becici, and is also the only one in this category to offer an all-inclusive formula and so many activities. In addition, it enjoys a beachside location, ideal amenities for guests both young and old, nice decor, and a full range of facilities! If only there were 100 rooms instead of 500, the whole place would feel a bit less cramped!

This imposing hotel certainly does not rely on charm to draw guests in. The Mediteran is just a few feet from the best beach in the area. It is a good option for families looking for a holiday by the sea who wish to stay in a hotel with a spa for mum and dad and a water park for the children.
