The Atlantico Buzios Convention Resort is the largest hotel in Buzios, with 172 guest rooms housed in three two storey buildings, each named after a Buzios beach and served by two lifts. Built in 2005, the hotel is a member of Brazilian hotel group Atlantico Hotels and operates on a half-board basis. The huge 1.3m-deep swimming pool is open from 8:00am to 8:00pm and is in the form of a huge lagoon with a green tinge, complete with a wooden bridge, an islet with a palm tree at its centre, hydro massage jets and statues depicting Greek and Roman goddesses, all set amid a huge tropical garden. The toilets are concealed amid the rocks, where you'll also find a waterfall which doubles as a shower! Towels are provided here free of charge and the solarium terrace is furnished with white plastic deck chairs, parasols and a few tables. Some of the deck chairs are sitting in the actual pool itself. There is also a rather large children's pool and a second indoor heated rectangular pool (5m x 3m) in the fitness centre, where you'll also find the sauna and the hammam. The pool snack bar is open from 8:00am to 11:00pm and even has a television. There are steps leading down to the Orla Bardot, the famous seafront promenade running along the port and town centre of Buzios, overlooking the famous larger-than-life statues of the fishermen. You might be interested to know that just before you reach the seafront promenade, still within the hotel grounds, there is a small chapel.
