The majority of the guest rooms at the Club Jumbo Palma constitute spacious apartments equipped with a kitchenette. More specifically, there is a total of 69 one-bedroom apartments, 18 two-bedroom apartments, and 8 studios. Their decor is lovely, with white tiled flooring and white painted walls that go well with the wooden furniture. They are also well-equipped, notably with a large flat-screen television and a convenient kitchenette (sink, two electric hobs, fridge, coffee machine, cutlery and crockery). However, given that they have no air-conditioning, guests have to make do with a fan. On the other hand, if it gets very cold (which is rather rare in Majorca), there is a radiator! There is no safe or Internet connection either. The comfortable and spacious lounge area is furnished with a large wooden table and four chairs, two sofas, a second wooden table and a small wooden desk. The guest rooms also have a large balcony furnished with a round white plastic table, two chairs and a clothes line. Half of the balconies afford a view of Cala Mandia. The bedrooms themselves are pleasantly decorated, again featuring a contrast between the two wooden beds and the wooden luggage holder and the white tiling and walls, all of which is complimented by a mirror and a colourful bedspread. As for the bathrooms, they include a bathtub with a flexible shower, a toilet, a radiator and hospitality products, but no hair-dryer.

Formerly the Cala Mandia Park, this hotel built in 1990 became the Club Jumbo Palma in 2011 and subsequently underwent major renovation work. The 95 apartments are located in 5 two-storey white buildings. The hotel's only swimming pool, shaped like a bean, is deep (2m30) and has easy sloping access like at the beach. Children also have their own circular, 28 inch-deep pool where they can splash around to their heart's content The area around the pools is equipped with fuchsia pink deckchairs, white straw parasols and a stage where the entertainment takes place. Though it isn't overly quiet here, the ambiance is nevertheless very relaxing. There is also a terrace area where guests are treated to a panoramic view of the beautiful Cala Mandia below. There is only one Bilanese bed, so it's first come first served! With billiards, a pinball machine, table tennis, table football, darts, petanque, tennis, badminton, basketball, beach volleyball, water polo, a gym and a sauna, the hotel has plenty to occupy all of its guests. What's more, children will love the fuchsia pink play castle open non-stop from 9:00am to 5:30pm (whereas most kids clubs close at lunchtime). Youngsters aged 12 to 17 also have their own club.

As part of the all-inclusive deal, adults over 18 are given a green bracelet to wear (alcohol is included in the deal), while any guest under 18 is given a blue bracelet (they will have to stick to the soft drinks, such as Coca Cola). The restaurant, which features a show cooking area, is located in a long room. The open kitchen means guests can admire the chefs at work, while the large bay windows afford a lovely view of the swimming pool and the Cala Mandia. The restaurant can seat up to 280 people but unfortunately does not have a terrace. The international cuisine served here is replaced with a Majorcan buffet once a week and with couscous on Monday evenings. Some very tasty paella (not to be missed!) is also served for lunch twice a week. Breakfast is served from 8:00am to 10:00am, lunch from 12:00pm to 2:30pm, and dinner from 7:00pm to 9:00pm. The snack bar next to the swimming pool serves cold sandwiches from 10:30am to 12:30pm and from 2:30pm to 6:00pm.

The rocky inlet known as Cala Romantica is 500m from the resort and there is a nice path along the coastline to take you there. Here you'll find a lovely little beach where you can hire deckchairs and straw parasols for around £8.50 per day. You can also play beach volleyball or do some sailing, windsurfing, and kayaking here. The setting is very pleasant (a beautiful cove surrounded by cliffs), the water is clear and the sand is fine, but the beach really does get very busy in high season. A lifeguard keeps an eye on swimmers and the danger level is indicated by a flag. Showers are available and there are a number of beachfront restaurants and bars in the vicinity.

Principally sold on the Internet (there is no brochure for these hotels) and in a few branches of Thomas Cook, the Club Jumbos offer unbeatable prices based on a simple concept: the sooner you book, the less you pay. For example, prices start at around £170 pounds per person for the all-inclusive package. The prices then climb gradually as more bookings are made, reaching as high as £680 for those who book last minute. These hotels are ideal if you're after modern, simple chic and fun surroundings for your holidays in an establishment with less than 200 guest rooms.
The hotel's guests (aka 'Jumbers') are taken care of by a team of 'J's' (the entertainment team) dressed in fuchsia pink who are responsible for ensuring everyone has a good time. They really do think of everything so as to create a unique ambiance (decor, lights and music) for events such as the 'Pink is Beautiful' night held every week. The swimming pool is coloured pink for the occasion and even the deckchairs around the pool are fuchsia pink!
The Club Jumbo Palma is not a place recommended for the elderly or disabled due to the many stairs and the fact that none of the rooms have been adapted to cater for such guests. There is no air-conditioning in the guest rooms but they do have a kitchenette. A free shuttle bus service is available to take guests to the spa and the disco at the Thomas Cook Village Castell dels Hams owned by the same group. If you've brought your laptop on holiday with you, you can make the most of the free Wi-Fi connection in the lobby. This establishment is open from mid-April to mid-October. If you're arriving at the hotel by car, note that there is no car park but you should have no problem finding a space in the adjacent streets.
