The hotel is located on seafront in the hotel zone and facing the shopping centre, Plaza Caracol. The town centre served by many bus stands is located 5 miles away. The airport is 8 miles away. It can be reached in 35 minutes.
With tiled floor and wooden furniture, the medium-sized rooms are decorated simply in the spirit of Mexico. All have a view onto the garden. Each room is equipped with centrally adjustable air conditioning, satellite television, telephone for international dialling via the hotel's switchboard open 24/24 hours. The bathrooms have a bathtub with a shower. Safes are available at the reception.
The hotel Hacienda Arrecife Beach Resort consists of four small pink buildings constructed in rows. It dominates a large swimming pool where two huge rocks rise, completely strange. They are fake. A bridge connects them. The effect is somewhat kitsch. Despite its bright colours, this set of 120 rooms, built successively in 1985 and 1997, appeared to be a little shabby when we visited. The hotel was renovated in 2001.
The restaurant El Sombrero provides a buffet topped with regional and international dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It operates continuously from 7 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Every day, the restaurant organises thematic evenings: Mexican, Caribbean, Italian, international and royal with grilled meats. Its main hall, open to the outside, borders the sea. It is filled with tables and chairs in various colours. The wooden pillars covered with sombreros support its roof made of palm leaves. There is also a snack bar.
The hotel has two public beaches of fine white sand. They have particular style. They stretch at the foot of the hotel. The first, a small bay, opens onto the turquoise sea. It welcomes the animations. Here, there is sport, but non-motorised out of respect for the environment. The waters are crystal clear. Several parasols, with roofs made of palm leaves, protect from the tropical sun. The second shore, which is narrower, offers tranquillity. The site is guarded.
The hotel Hacienda Arrecife Beach Resort has all the charm of a hotel of its kind, which succeds to marry the ordinary with the fantastic. It borders the turquoise water of the Caribbean Sea. The simplicity of its facilities and the conviviality of its animation offer vibrant family holidays, yet unpretentious.
