    Location 10.0 /10

The Rendezvous is next to Castries regional airport. You should expect a 5 to 10 minute drive to get to the centre of the capital, depending on traffic. Hewanorra International Airport is approximately a one and half hour's drive away.

    Accommodation 7.10 /10

The guest rooms are the only parts of the resort that show signs of its old age. The hotel has 100 rooms, including 35 suites and 8 beachside cottages. The standard rooms are called 'garden view rooms' and, as their name suggests, they're at the far end of the hotel, in 3-storey buildings that overlook the garden. The view from the terrace is far from unpleasant.
Inside, the decorators opted for brightly coloured classics, such as the wooden, four-poster King size bed, blue walls and patterned curtains.
All the standard amenities are present, including a free safe, air-conditioning, free Wi-Fi access, and an ironing board and iron... but no mini-bar. The bathroom, equipped with a bathtub, is decent enough, but nothing special.

    Overview 7.90 /10

The hotel was built in 1970 and it became the Rendezvous in 1993, which makes it one of Santa Lucia's oldest establishments. All the common areas were renovated in 2009, so it does manage to look younger than its years. What is more, the vegetation has had plenty of time to flourish, meaning the gardens are particularly pleasant. This is a long and narrow resort that stretches out along Vigie beach (also called Malabar beach). There is a golf driving range, a beach volley pitch, a gym, Pilates lessons, yoga lessons, Tai Chi lessons... and even three tennis courts, but it seems that the main reason holidaymakers come here is to rest and relax. The spa is done out in white and blue tones, with some surfaces covered with wood, and although it is rather nondescript, it is not unpleasant in any way.
It is well worth spending some time at the three swimming pools. The beautiful main pool and the poolside bar, next to the beach, are meant to be places of sport and entertainment, but when we were there, it was very tranquil. The swimming pool of the spa is small and rectangular, but the blue tiling and blue armchairs that surround it add a real touch of elegance. Finally, the third swimming pool is winding like a meandering river. Concealed by the vegetation, this is a series of little peaceful islands surrounded by comfortable deckchairs and cushy mattresses.

    Food and drink 7.60 /10

The all-inclusive formula concerns the two main restaurants. The main buffet restaurant is the aptly-named Terrace. Entirely outdoors and facing the sea, aits elegant tables and chairs stretch all the way down towards the beach. It is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. In the evening, guests can eat at The Trysting Place, which serves international cuisine la carte.

In terms of the hotel's bars, most of the activity is centred around the pool bar of the main swimming pool, right next to the beach. In the evenings, however, The Terrace bar is a popular place for before or after dinner drinks (live music). The piano bar stays open till the last guests head for bed.

    Beach 9.09 /10

Vigie beach is the nicest in the Castries region. It stretches for 300 metres alongside the Rendezvous. Deckchairs, parasols, gazebos, areas with armchairs and sofas, hammocks... regardless of your idea of comfort, the resort makes every effort to add to its guest's enjoyment of the sand, sea and sun. Unfortunately, the hotel is a North-facing building. The bars of the swimming pool and the buffet room are close by if you're feeling thirsty.

Finally, there is also a wide range of equipment so that you can enjoy a large range of water sports for free: kayaking, sailing, snorkelling, surfing, windsurfing, sailing... All lessons are free, except for the diving lessons. However, if you have the proper certificates, the diving equipment is also available for free.

    To know

The hotel caters for couples, and children are not allowed.

The all-inclusive offer includes the drinks and the activities, but does not include use of the spa or diving lessons.

The Rendezvous specialises in offering its guests customised holidays: each activity can be enjoyed as a couple accompanied only by only a coach, and at whatever time you choose.
