About 400 $$ from the sea, in the new ''Urbanizacion Playas del Duque" of Las Americas, few $$ away from lots of golf courses. To reach the hotel from the Tenerife Sur airport located 11 miles away, the journey takes 30-minutes. The hotel is about 50 miles away from Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the island's capital.
Arranged with wooden furniture, the apartments and studios are bright, warm and comfortable. They are equipped with a nice, small "American style", open kitchen. A third of the apartments have a sea view; the others overlook the pools, the mini-golf course or the mountains. All the rooms have a direct telephone line, satellite TV, a safe-box (costing extra), air-conditioning and a bathroom complete with a bathtub.
Opened in 1999, the large complex of El Duque hotel apartments is composed of 9 buildings on 2 to 3 levels each, with elevators, comprising 210 apartments and studios. In the heart of the complex, clients can enjoy two large pools and a wading pool for children, surrounded by beach chairs, sunshades and lots of sport and leisure amenities.
The hotel offers a fancy, bright buffet-restaurant that can seat up to 250 guests, with a long bay window with a pool view running along side it. The cuisine is internationally-inspired, with Canarian, Spanish and Mexican specialties once a week, accompanied by musicians for the occasion. At noon, two snack bars serve '' a la carte'' dishes at the edge of the swimming pools.
To get to the beach, you have to cross a street and walk a little more than 1,310 feet. The facilities include beach umbrellas, deckchairs and showers. Water sports and games for children are readily available. Supervised and well-equipped, the beach is bordered by a pedestrian promenade surrounded by bars, restaurants, small shops and games rooms.

This small sized charming hotel, pleasantly and warmly decorated, is great for couples in search of quiet and relaxation. The Colo Guanahani offers quality services, but it is not really adapted for families with children and it does not offer any animation.

Cherry on the cake, its well panoramic equipped roof where most important activities take place, including the tapas break at noon.
La Niña is without doubt one of the better hotels in the south. It has all the ingredients for a perfect family holiday with great facilities for guests of every age. The rooms are smart, the décor tasteful, the architecture quirky, the ambiance joyful and the staff friendly.
