The Arecas is a good choice for couples, older rather than younger, who are looking for a hotel away from the hubbub of the town centre, close to the beach and with perhaps a little old-fashioned charm. It certainly isn't the most modern or aesthetically pleasing of Tenerife's hotels (although the exterior isn't bad) but it does comfortable, functional rooms, a large restaurant with decent food and excellent staff. Children are very welcome at the Arecas, although there is no kids club or activities dedicated to them. Certainly worth a punt if you're not bothered by the dated décor and lack of animation.
