The Bahia Principe Costa Adeje is located in the southern limit of the hotelier zone of Playa Paraiso on Costa Adeja, on the sea front, 7 miles away from Playa de Las Americas, on the southwestern coast of Tenerife. To reach the hotel from the Tenerife Sur airport located 18 miles away, allow a 45 minute drive. The hotel is about 56 miles away from Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the capital of the island.
The 420 junior suites are spacious (320 square feet), very well equipped and nicely decorated. They have satellite TV, a safe (?32 or £25 per day), direct air-conditioning with ceiling fan, a free mini-bar, a telephone with direct international access and a large balcony from where you can admire the sea view or the view of the La Gomera Island. Well decorated and very clean, the large bathrooms include a bathtub with handle and flexible shower, non separate toilets, a bidet, a double vanity unit, welcome products, handkerchiefs, telephone and a hair-dryer.
Nestled in a well fitted out floral field of 516,000 square feet on the sea front, the Bahia Principe Costa Adeje houses 486 rooms, including 60 junior suites (with hydromasssage bathtub) in seven buildings of three to seven floors each, build on platforms. The pastel decoration (blue, pink and yellow) is inspired by the Latino-American style. The lobby is sumptuous, combining archways, fountains, stained glass windows, columns and chandeliers. The Bahia Principe Costa Adeje offers three large soft water pools (open from 10.00am to 7.00pm in winter and untill 8.00pm in summer) including one heated in winter and another one offering a scenic view of the ocean. Towels are provided for a ?10 (£8) deposit. The large solarium pool surrounding the pool has deckchairs, sunshades, showers and a pool for kids and a jacuzzi. A bar serves drinks and snacks from 8.00am to midnight.
The clients are welcomed using the all-inclusive formula (except for imported alcohol) from 8.00am to 11.00pm (24 hours for water and sodas). As for meals, you can choose between the international ''El Mirador'' buffet or one of the 3 specialised à la carte restaurants (Spanish, seafood and Italian). Breakfast is served from 7.30am to 10.30am, lunch from 1.00pm to 3.30pm and dinner from 6.30pm to 10.30pm. During the day, 3 bars serve snacks.
There is no beach in the immediate vicinity of the hotel, but a free bus-ride gets you to the Playa de las Americas, 2.5 miles away, where you can find fully equipped beaches. From the panoramic pool, a small road leads to a small semi-private rocky inlet, at Cala Principe. It is has showers, sunshades, deckchairs and is covered with imported golden sand. You can refresh yourself at the Chiriguitos bar from 10.00am to 6.00pm.
Opened in 2003, the Grand Bahia Principe Costa Adeje belongs to the Gran Bahia Principe Spanish chain of hotels. The clients of the Bahia Principe Costa Adeje have access to the facilities of the Bahia Principe Tenerife located directly above. Children aged 2 to 12 years share a room with 2 adults for no additional fee in the all inclusive formula. An original concept common to all Bahia Principe hotels, the Puerto Principe is a kind of village with its square embellished with a fountain, its façades housing bars (not included in the all-inclusive formula), snacks and shops, and a disco (La Fiesta), open from midnight to 8 o'clock in the morning. A tennis court, a raquetball court and a multi-sport field (basketball, soccer and volleyball) welcome sport lovers, while those enjoying fitness can choose the Bahia spa and the gym room which has the latest facilities.

The Costa Adeje Palace is yet another great property from the Spanish chain H10. Perfect for both families and couples, it has that little extra something in each department which helps it distinguish itself from the crowd. As well as the quiet location, the hotel has the interior setting to go with it with pleasant grounds and a laid back atmosphere. The Privilege Club, also found at some of their other hotels, is a definite plus point. The Jardin Caleta is a friendly, reasonably sized aparthotel offering spacious apartments with equipped kitchens set around a large swimming pool, a bar, and a restaurant, not to mention the rooftop whirlpool bath. It is a peaceful establishment well suited to families.
It's almost as if this hotel has been placed accidentally in the wrong resort. Although situated in Costa Adeje, it is more like the bulk of hotels up in the north. By that we mean that it is fairly old fashioned in terms of décor and atmosphere, there is little for kids and it is popular with the older generation. Its rooms are comfortable if not somewhat dated, there are several very good standard eating options and it is has a modest but very agreeable wellness centre which make the Palace a great option if you are looking for a peaceful break with no kids (although they are welcome) and attention to detail.
This intimate, luxurious hotel is one of the gems of the island. A property of superlatives, it is the ideal place to spend a romantic break or for an up market group getaway. Consisting uniquely of beautifully appointed villas, it also has an exceptional restaurant and fine spa. Although some way in land, the hotel's surroundings and the views it affords are priceless.
