Opened in 1958, the Lana is an institution in the Courchevel resort. Renovated every year, this 5-star establishment is still under transformation, notably in a handful of bedrooms and its indoor swimming pool. However, the rest of the hotel was renovated as recently as 2010. A member of the Tournier Group, in the same category as the Saint Roch, the Saint Joseph and the Pralong, the Lana also benefits from an ideal location at the base of the slopes.

Location
9.93/10
The Lana first appeared in Courchevel in 1850, at the foot of the Bellecôte slope. It takes a few minutes by shuttle or by car to reach the centre of the village.
Accommodation
8.95/10
With 89 guest rooms, the Lana is far from the smallest hotel in Courchevel. There are at least eight different room categories here: standard, medium, superior, prestige (the most numerous), suite, superior suite, prestige suite and apartment, in two different styles. We recommend you opt for a contemporary style room, as the traditional ones could still use a little updating. In the most recently revamped rooms, however, you will find everything you would expect from a 5-star hotel (a minibar, free Wi-Fi, a safe, a flat-screen television, etc.), and more, such as the luminotherapy option in the headboard. The only damper was the lack of tea and coffee-making facilities and a shower in the bathrooms of the smallest rooms, which only have a bathtub.
Overview
8.70/10
Stepping through the doors of the Lana, you will find yourself in a lobby with subdued, and even rather dim, lighting. Tiling on the floor, small alcoves and a dark wooden counter. While this may not be the newest establishment, it is full of charm and instantly gives you the urge to discover the rest of the hotel. The dim lighting only serves to accentuate the gloriously white snow you can see outside on the slopes through the windows. This establishment may have all the classic facilities of a 5-star Courchevel hotel but it differentiates itself through its personality and the small details that always make the difference, such as the mulled wine awaiting you when returning from the slopes and the swimming pool with its olden days look! Incidentally, this was the first hotel in Courcheval to have a swimming pool. Far from the pools with contemporary decor, this one welcomes guests with a frieze depicting a naked woman, some dolphins and a basin. Although the spot does need to be renovated, we bet that the frieze isn't going anywhere, as the owners have a particular fondness for it. As for the spa, it was completely redone in 2009. The Lana is one of the few hotels in the resort to have two restaurants, including one based on local specialities.
Food and drink
9.20/10
Contrary to most of the other hotels in the resort, the Lana doesn't have one but two restaurants. Indeed, a second restaurant specialising in cuisine from the Savoy region was opened in 2012. Able to seat 40 diners, the menu includes salads for £17, classic fondues for £30 and a tartiflette for £26. As for the main restaurant, it can accomodate up to 115 diners in a charming dining room. At midday, in addition to a buffet there is also an à la carte menu: salads (around £26), omelettes (around £17), pastas (£21), risottos (£26 to £42), fish (£27 to £36) and meats (£26 to £39). In the evening, guests can choose between the set menu (if they are staying on the half-board formula) or à la carte for a broader range of choices. And the cherry on top: the wine cellar that was renovated in 2012. The hotel even offers guests a taste of the vintage of the year, and the option to have some sent to them at home a year later.
To know
The Lana belongs to the Tournier hotel group, which has 3 other hotels in Courchevel and 21 hotels in total. Like most of the hotels here, the Lana is open from mid-December to mid-April and offers a free Wi-Fi Internet connection throughout the hotel.

Opened in December 2009, the Strato is not just another 5-star hotel in Courchevel 1850. Although you may see many luxury hotels in Courchevel, you won't see many palaces. In fact, there are just two: the Cheval Blanc and Les Airelles. Opened in 1992, the establishment is also catalogued by the luxurious Leading Hotels of the World chain. With its charming traditional decor, its Cellcosmet spa and its restaurants, including one with 2 Michelin stars, Les Airelles deserves its distinction. This is a great place to stay, provided you can afford it!

The K2 Hotel is located close to the centre of the Courchevel resort and the Croisette. This hotel village stretches along the Cospillot slope, offering guests an incomparable panorama of the valley and mountain massifs.

It's hard to recognise the Hotel Les Grandes Alpes, one of the oldest establishments in the resort, since it underwent a complete renovation. The establishment now offers a concept that is unique in the resort: apartments with a well-being centre and hotel service. Here, instead of rooms there are apartments, the smallest of which measures 150m². Don't bother looking for the restaurant as the accommodation comes with its own fully-equipped kitchen.

Manali

At a time when luxury hotels are popping up all over the streets of Courchevel 1850, the Manali is the only 5 star establishment in the 1650 resort. Far from the bling of the ritzy shops located at the highest point of the villages, the Manali rigorously holds onto its secrets, and what secrets they are. Other than the impeccable service and the irreproachable cuisine, the establishment has a decor and a theme all of its owned dreamt up by its owners. Add to this the two level 'Cinq Mondes' spa and no doubt about it, the Manali is one of our favourite places in all of Courchevel!

Opened in 2011, the Pralong joined the Tournier family which includes three other luxury hotels in the resort. You will thus recognise the Group's style in the decor but also in the ambiance of the hotel. 5 stars, 65 guest rooms, a bar, a restaurant, a spa: everything you need to enjoy a dream holiday of dreams for those lucky enough to be able to afford a stay here.

It all began in 1963 when a young couple purchased a small chalet with 9 guest rooms. 50 years later, the couple in question, Mr. and Mrs. Rochedy, are at the head of an institution with 41 guest rooms, one of the largest spas in the Alps and a Michelin star restaurant. The Chabichou may have chosen to rank itself as 'only' a 4-star establishment, but its restaurant gives it an extra two, and makes it one of the most well-known and luxurious hotels in Courchevel, where it is a pleasure to stay or to at least dine!

Opened in 1956, Le Melezin has preserved only the best of a distant era: the parquet floor in the communal areas. The rest has all been renovated over the years to give it its contemporary classical appearance. Despite the small number of guest rooms, Le Melezin offers a number of facilities. In addition to the bar and restaurant, the hotel also has a spa, a library, a lounge and a luxurious ski storage room.
