The Club Med Djerba La Douce is located on the east coast, 17 miles from Houmt Souk. Transfer between the club and the airport takes between 40 and 45 minutes (24 miles).
Although small and simple, the rooms in the bungalows (303 of them) are equipped with individual air conditioning, and a telephone with direct access for international calls. The bathrooms have showers. On the other hand there is no television or mini-bar. The decor, in the Djerbian style, emphasises the blue and white colours. The materials are simple: painted wood, tiles, fabrics with geometric motifs. And most importantly: the large balcönies have garden furniture. Because of the noise, avoid the bungalows close to the centre of activities, even if you have to walk to go to the swimming pool or restaurant. Besides the line of bungalows on the seashore, other bungalows overlook the gardens. The rooms located in the hotel complex (around 350) have the same equipment and also overlook the gardens.
Built in 1971, the Club Med Djerba La Douce was renovated in 2003. It is part of a hotel complex surrounded by a great park planted with trees and bungalows spread along the beach. 653 rooms are housed between the hotel complex and bungalows with a capacity of 1,263 persons. As for leisure facilities, there is a beautiful infinity swimming pool, surrounded by a tiled solarium sufficiently spacious to set your lounge chair the way you want it. Sports enthusiasts can train on one of the 20 tennis courts available to them. The fitness room, outside oxygenated pathway, basketball court and mini-football are also accessible for free. Those who only want relaxation can go to the spa where all kinds of cures using algae, marine mud or essential oils are offered.
The main restaurant has the same capacity as that of the club: a huge buffet offers a rich choice of starters, dishes and desserts. Three times a week, the Club Med hosts a theme buffet (Italian, fisherman, Tunisian). Perfectly thought-out decor favours the volumes for offering maximum light. The ever-present blue and white create a pleasant decor. Unfortunately, the size of the restaurant during peak time is insufficient. Beware of pandemonium... To avoid the crowd and the noise coming from it, you can reserve a table at La Gargoulette, the a la carte restaurant of the Club, located in a nicely decorated menzel. You can taste some nice Tunisian specialities there.
Located pretty close to the bungalows, the fine sand beach stretches along the Club, it is very long! Bouquets of palm trees give it a very nice exotic aspect. You could almost forget its relative small size and algae that accumulate on the seashore because of the tides. As for comfort, the beach is supervised and equipped with sunshades, lounge chairs, and showers. Towels are available to all the clients in exchange for a security deposit.
Season open from April to October.
The Club Med Djerba La Douce has a wellness centre: the Spa provides massages, beauty cares, gymnastic or balneotherapy appointments. It is here that you can find a hair dresser, sauna and hammam. For those tempted to take a theme cure, different schedules are offered lasting 4, 5, or six days: wellness, energy, marine beauty, back, anti cellulite.
The charm of the Aladin Djerba lies in its typical "menzel" architecture. But you should also note its activities, varied and thoughtful. An address of quality if you want to spend holidays without worries.
Unlike its sister establishment, the Haroun, which has opted for a discrete profile, the Sidi Mansour has all-out delusions of grandeur, with 4 restaurants, 4 bars, 268 guest rooms, large swimming pools, and so on. However, this focus on quantity is unfortunately not reflected in the quality of its facilities, which are really no better than in any of the other hotels in the region, although you will definitely find comfort here. It is a great place for families to stay.
The Hasdrubal Prestige is the most luxurious hotel in Djerba, but that is not the only reason to choose this establishment. It possesses a number of unique infrastructures, including its outdoor 'three waters' swimming-pool which features several pools filled with seawater, freshwater and thermal water. The hotel's thalassotherapy centre is also out of this world; it includes a glass-covered marine walkway, private cabins and bathtubs filled with seawater or freshwater, depending on the treatment you choose. It is preferable to come to see and experience this hotel in the off-season; it won't be too crowded and your booking will be a little cheaper.
The Hasdrubal Thalassa Djerba is a facility with carefully chosen amenities: everything is there for the guests' comfort and tranquillity. An address to appreciate, preferably as a couple, to really enjoy the setting.
If you want to have a cure of thalassatherapy, play golf without having to take a taxi
or simply to rest on the seaside, in a well maintained environment, the Mövenpick
Ulysse Palace is a good address in Djerba.
This is one of the clubs in Djerba that is most often recommended for facilities adapted to families as well as sports lovers, its good food and especially its all inclusive formula makes it easy to stay w?th your budget once you arrive there.
